Lookin’ Up to Lookin’ Out(Erie, Pa.) June 3, 2008
Gabby Damiano and Sophie Markle pose as sisters to illustrate the opportunity teens have to be good role models in the 2008 Lookin’ Out PSA “My Big Sister.” “I want to be just like my big sister,” says six-year-old Sophie Markle in this year’s winning Erie Insurance Group Lookin’ Out public service announcement (PSA). Teen drivers are not only responsible for their own lives; they’re also responsible for the lives of others. That’s the message the Lookin’ Out committee from Selinsgrove High School is sending with this year’s Lookin’ Out PSA, titled “My Big Sister.” Although not old enough for a driver’s license of her own, Sophie knows you’re never too young to learn safe driving habits. Selinsgrove sophomores, Courtney Lester and Gabby Damiano, came up with the winning idea for this year’s PSA after being part of a seat belt safety presentation for elementary school students put on by their school’s Lookin’ Out committee. As winners of the eighth annual PSA contest, they were featured in the commercial which was filmed on location in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Ms. Katie Robbins is the committee’s faculty advisor while Mark Dersham of A.A. Shaffer, Jr. & Son Insurance Agency serves as their agent advisor. |
