Future Focus IT and Actuarial Internship Program

About the internship

The internship is available to full-time college students whose permanent residence is within approximately 250 miles of ERIE’s Home Office or who would like to begin a career in the Erie, Pa., community. The internship includes orientation to the company and the insurance industry through:

  • A variety of challenging assignments in a stimulating work environment
  • A personal mentor
  • A welcome event for the interns and their mentors and supervisors
  • Educational programs and roundtable lunches

Planned social events and opportunities for a wide variety of recreational activities will round out the interns’ experience in Erie’s scenic city on the lake.

How to apply

Applications will be accepted from full-time college students currently attending an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree or to complete a master’s degree program full-time. Four-year degree students should be completing their sophomore of junior year. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is required to be considered for the internship. Additional qualifications include a major in MIS, Computer Science or other IT-related major for the IT internship. Completion of the first class in COBOL is preferred. For an Actuarial internship, a major in math or actuarial science is necessary; passing at least one actuarial exam is preferred.
